Some visitors...you just don't want. Hawaii may be in for some rough weather as Hurricanes Iselle and Julio get closer to the islands.
Thankfully Hurricane Iselle has slowly weakened and will hopefully be downgraded to a tropical storm. A tropical storm would bring strong winds, big surf and and heavy rain. She's expected to pass the Big Island this afternoon. According to the National Weather Service, the terrain of the Big Island should further weaken Iselle. Love those volcanoes!
Hurrican Julio is not far behind Iselle and is due to arrive Sunday.
We have several friends on the Big Island. One of my best friends lives on the Hilo side. She's lived in Hawaii many years, this is her first hurricane. It's scarey stuff. I want all of our Hawaiian friends to know that we are thinking of them at this time. Stay safe and stay strong!
